Meet the Bloggers

James Snyder

James has always called Tucker County his home and has no plans to change that. He has worked at the ski areas in Canaan, the lumber company in Hendricks, and now the county health department.

He has been the Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Parsons for the past three years and was a lay speaker at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Parsons for seven years before that.

He loves to spend time with his family and enjoys spending time outdoors in the wonderful place we are blessed to call home (especially fishing and hunting, but not so much the grass mowing thing).

“I’m hoping that the TuckerFaith blog will give me and everyone that reads an opportunity to better understand our faith and how it applies to our lives right here, right now,” he said.

Chopper Evans

Chopper is the Youth Pastor at the Parsons Church of God. He has held that position since 2005.  Before that he was the Youth Leader at Union Chapel United Methodist Church.  He is ordained through the Rhema Christian Center.

He is a life long resident of Tucker County, being involved in many youth activities.  He’s been a youth football coach and a little league baseball umpire.  He’s been hosting a 5th quarter after home football games for the past 5 years, which provides teens a place to go after the games with free food, and games.

Chopper and his wife of 21 years, Barbie, have 3 children, Josh, Amber and Natalie.

He loves the youth of Tucker County and his goal is to show the love of Christ to teens and to try to be a positive role model, someone that cares for them.
